Scholastica School became the champion in the final match of the ULAB Champions Cup 2019, the Inter-English Medium School T20 Cricket Tournament, held at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) Cricket Ground in Mohammadpur on Tuesday (Oct 22).
Scholastica and Sunnydale battled it out in the final where Sunnydale won the toss and decided to bat first.
Sunnydale scored 142 runs from 19.4 overs losing all wickets. In response, Scholastica scored 143 runs from 15.3 overs and earned the Champion's title.
Scholastica’s Siam scored 93 runs from 43 balls (not out) and became the Man of the Final.
Sunnydale’s Farhan was awarded the Best Batsman of the Tournament (202 runs), while Nehal received the title of Man of the Tournament for accumulating a total of 203 runs and taking 8 wickets.
Scholastica’s Nohan became Best Bowler of the Tournament (9 wickets), and Sakib was awarded as Best Fielder of the Tournament.
Juditha Ohlmachar, Member of ULAB’s Board of Trustees, graced the final ceremony of the tournament and handed over the trophy to the Champion of the Tournament.
This year, eight schools participated in the two-week long ULAB Champions Cup 2019 tournament. The schools were Scholastica School, DPS STS School, Cardiff International School, Maple Leaf International School, Sunnydale School, South Breeze School, Mangrove School, and Dhanmondi Tutorial School.
