Bangladesh have defeated Zimbabwe by 39 runs in Chittagong to confirm the final of the T20 the tri-nation series.
Shafiul Islam took three wickets as Zimbabwe were all out 136 in 20 over in chase of 176 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Wednesday (Sept 18).
The host struck early as the visitors were reduced to 44/6 in 8.4 overs.
Captain Hamilton Masakadza and Kyle Jarvis made some resistance scoring 25 and 27 respectively.
Richmond Mutumbami lately quick-fired 54 off 34 balls to give Zimbabwe a respite but was inadequate to chase a competitive total.
With Shafiul, Mustafizur Rahman and Aminul Islam took two wickets each while Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Saifuddin shred two wickets.
Earlier Mahmudullah top-scored 62 while Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim added 38 and 32 respectively to help Bangladesh post 175 for seven in the fourth match of the series.
Najmul Hossain Shanto (22) and captain Shakib(10) were others batsman to reach a double-digit.
Kyle Jarvis, for Zimbabwe, claimed three wickets while Chris Mpofu, Tinotenda Mutombodzi, and Ryan Burl shared four wickets.
For a timely 41-ball knock, Mahmudullah was adjudged at the Player of the Match.
Captain Shakib said they started well but couldn't finish the innings like the way they wanted to.
"The bowlers bowled brilliantly, and at the same time, the way we fielded was terrific. It helped having proper five bowlers and in T20 matches, more often than not it's your bowlers who win you matches," he said.
If Bangladesh win the next match (against Afghanistan) that would be a huge boost in the final against the same opponent, Shakib said.
Bangladesh, however, suffered a defeat by Afghanistan during their previous face-off in the series.
Player of the Match Mahmudullah said he had made his mind from the dressing room that he would go from the first ball.
Praising Liton's and Mushfiqur's batting the right-hander said that he is "happy to contribute to the win and "will be more consistent" in the future.
"We need to put our best performance in the next game," he added.
Zimbabwe captain Masakadza said they face a bit of a disaster with the batting as half of the batsmen were out in the first ten overs.
"I thought the total was definitely chaseable, especially given the dew. That was also one of the reasons behind bowling first," he argued.
Bangladesh will face Afghanistan on Sept 21 in Chattogram and will play against the same opponent in the final at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Sept 23.
