Jamal Bhuiyan, captain of Saif Sporting Club apologized to the Bangladesh Football Federation after receiving a show-cause letter from the country’s football governing body two days earlier for making open comments against the referee on media.
“I was left mentally imbalanced after receiving red card for which I couldn’t participate in my club’s next important game,” stated Jamal in his reply letter to the show-cause.
He added, “I gave an interview to a TV channel. My mental status was not in good condition as I couldn’t express every word logically. As a senior player I shouldn’t have done this. I’m sorry and apologize for my words.”
Saif Sporting conceded a 4-1 defeat against Abahani Limited on Saturday (Jul 20) which saw one red card from each team during the game.
Jamal received the third red card after the final whistle for being involved in a quarrel with the referee while leaving the pitch.
