Bangladesh have announced their squad for three-One Day International (ODI) series in Sri Lanka later this month.
Ending all speculation over post-World Cup retirement, Mashrafe Mortaza will continue to lead the 14-member squad while opener wicket-keeper batsman Anamul Hoque Bijoy and left-arm spinner Taijul Islam will be returning to the national side.
Chief Selector of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) unveiled the squad at a media call at the BCB office on Tuesday (Jul 16).
As expected, world no. 1 all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and batsman Liton Das were not in the team as they went on leave on personal reasons with pacer Abu Jayed Rahi, who made the World Cup squad, too, has been left out.
Bangladesh will play the first ODI on Jul 26, followed another two ODIs on Jul 28 and Jul 31 respectively. All three ODIs are day-night fixtures and will take place in Colombo.
Bangladesh Squad:
Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Mohammad Mithun, Mosaddek Hossain, Sabbir Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Enamul Haque Bijoy, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mohammad Saifuddin, and Taijul Islam.
