New Zealand are in apparent control over the rain-hit first Cricket World Cup semi-final as India’s Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni are gone after a solid resistance.

Ravindra Jadeja (77 of 59 balls) shared 116-run partnership with MS Dhoni before Tren Boult dismissed India.  

While Dhoni (50 of 72 balls) was run out by Martin Guptil.

Cashing a target of 240 runs, India’s KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, all three scored just 1 run each before they were preyed by New Zealand’s Matt Henry and Trent Bout in the first 5 overs of the innings.
Matt Henry strikes for third time adding more damage to India when he dismissed Dinesh Kartik (6) in thr last delivery of the 10th over.

Earlier, Half-centuries from Kiwis captain Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor helped New Zealand to a modest 239 for eight against India on Wednesday.
Resuming on the reserve day at 211-5, New Zealand, opted to bat first, added 28 runs from the remaining 23 deliveries as Taylor top-scored with a gutsy 74 at Old Trafford where teams batting first had won all five previous matches in the tournament.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of India’s blowers claiming 3-43 while Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Hardik Pandya took a wicket apiece.
