The opening ceremony of Gemcon Professional Golf Tournament-18 will take place at the pristine Kurmitola Golf Club Monday.
Director of Gemcon Group Kazi Inam Ahmed will be present as special guest of honour at the event while Bangladesh Professional Golfers’ Association (BPGA) Secretary General G M Quamrul Islam along with other officials will be present on the occasion.
Bangladesh Professional Golfers’ Association is organising the tournament with the prize money of Tk 1.2 million this time.
The title sponsor of the tournament is Gemcon Group- one of the most famous business conglomerates in Bangladesh.
This is a 72 hole stroke-play tournament where 77 professionals and 11 amateurs will participate.
The cut will be applied after the first 36 holes. The top 10 players and ties will make the halfway cut and continue to play for another 36 holes.
Eminent golfers like Mohammad Zamal Hossain Mollah, Md Sojib Ali, Md. Nazim and many more will participate in the event.
The closing ceremony of the tournament will take place on Wednesday at the same venue.
State minister for youth and sports Biren Sikder will be present as chief guest while lawmaker Kazi Nabil Ahmed and Vice Chairman of Gemcon Group will be there as the special guest.
