A fiery fifty by Hazratullah Zazai has powered Dhaka Dynamites to post a challenging total of 189 against Rajshahi Kings in the second match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 in Dhaka on Saturday.
Sent to bat first, Shakib-Al Hasan’s Dynamites made a rampant start scoring 116 runs in 10.4 overs in the opening stand by Afghan opener Zazai and West Indian Sunil Narine at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Left-handed Afghan bating sensation Zazai hit the first half century of the ongoing BPL scoring 78 runs off 41 balls with four fours and seven sixes.
Left-handed Caribbean batsman Sunil Narine contributed 38 runs off 28 balls with four fours and two sixes.
Captain Shakib and West Indies’s Kieron Pollard, however, performed poorly.
Andre Russell and Shuvagata Hom added 53 runs off 28 balls in the sixth wicket partnership, news agency UNB reports.
Number seven Shuvagata Hom quick-fired 38 not out off 14 balls with five fours and two sixes.
Russell added an unbeaten 19-ball 21 runs hitting two fours and a six.
Arafat Sunny, the left-arm spinner, was the most successful bowler for Rajshahi. He took two wickets conceding 23 runs in three overs while Pakistani Mohammad Hafeez, Qais Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took one wicket each.
Rajshahi need to score at the average of 9.5 to win their first match of BPL 2019.
