Captain Shakib al Hasan will be returning to play the first Test match against the West Indies scheduled to take off on Thursday (Nov 22).
On Saturday (Nov 17), Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the 13-man squad that will be up against West Indies at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium in Chattogram.
Opening batsman Soumya Sarkar and spinner Nayeem Hasan will also be returning to the side alongside Shakib.
On the other hand, opener Liton Das, left-handed batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto, seamer Abu Jayed and spinner Nazmul Islam, who were all part of the squad for the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe, were omitted from the squad for the first Test.
The second and final Test will take place at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, beginning on November 30.
