Liton, Mehidy give Bangladesh a flying startOpeners Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have given Bangladesh a flying start, smashing the India bowling attack.
Bangladesh scored 102 for no loss in 18 overs against India in their Asian Cup final in Dubai on Friday.
Liton hit his maiden ODI half century. He scored 76 off 53 balls with eight fours and two sixes.
Mehidy gave a good company to his teammate as he scored 27 off 52 balls.
Earlier, India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and send Bangladesh to bat.
“Big game, runs on the board are important. But I guess fielding first is something that suits our team,” Rohit said after winning the toss.
Bangladesh made on change.
Bangladesh Capitan Masrafee Mortaza said, “We felt were a spinner short, so we've changed that. Appu [Nazmul Islam] is coming in for Mominul… They are the No. 1 side. There's always pressure in the final. If we can cope with it, we have a good chance.”
