Shakib Al HasanShakib Al Hasan has been ruled out of Bangladesh’s match against Pakistan with injury in his finger.
The 31-year-old all-rounder has been suffering from injury since he fractured one of his left hand’s fingers during the tri-series against Sri Lanka and India at the Nidahash trophy in March this year.
According to team manager Khaled Mahmud, Shakib’s left hand’s little-finger had swollen up overnight.
“Shakib went to the physicians twice in the last couple of days. As per the last checkup with the doctor, the finger had swollen up too much and he can’t even hold the bat.,” Mahmud said.
Shakib was scheduled to go under a surgery before in September that would have ruled him out of the Asia Cup.
But, Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the squad including Shakib as the board deemed that the number one ranked all-rounder in the world was too important to miss.
Bangladesh is playing the Asia Cup Super Four match against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi.
