The BNP has disrespected the court and law as they held a protest rally demanding Khaleda Zia’s release and marking the second anniversary of her imprisonment, says Information Minister Hasan Mahmud.
“BNP is always creating chaos in the name of rally,” said Hasan, also the ruling Awami League’s joint general secretary.
His remarks came while he was addressing a discussion on ‘Mujib Year’ at Dhaka’s National Press Club on Saturday (Feb 8), amid BNP’s ongoing rally at Naya Paltan.
“Legal actions should be taken against BNP for their contempt of court. Their leader is an incarcerated convict. Only the court can acquit her,” he said before denying any jurisdiction of the government over the issue.
