Leaders and activists of BNP held a protest rally in front of their Naya Paltan headquarters in Dhaka, marking two years of imprisonment of party chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The protest rally began on Saturday (Feb 8) afternoon after getting permission from Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Already, BNP supporters from different parts of Dhaka and adjoining areas have joined the rally.
Among others, BNP’s mayoral contestants in Dhaka City polls, Ishraque Hossain and Tabith Awal addressed the rally.
Ishraque claimed that the people have found out the blueprint of the government immediately after the caretaker government’s withdrawal.”
“We thought that Dhaka City polls would be fair. However, the people witnessed how the voting was rigged,” he added.
Tabith said, “The people are depending on BNP, they are waiting for Khaleda Zia’s acquittal.”
