BNP’s Ishraque pledges ‘modern and livable’ Dhaka

BNP’s mayoral candidate Ishraque Hossain has pledged a modern and livable Dhaka if he is elected in the city corporations polls slated for Feb 1.

He rolled out his 13-point manifesto for the Dhaka City polls at the National Press Club on Tuesday (Jan 28).

“The city will be beautified while preserving the heritage of Dhaka and service to the citizens,” he said.

He pledged to resolve the traffic issues and sustainable development of the communication system along with ward-based modernisation.

His pledges include farmers market and night markets, modern technology to deal with water clogging, prevent river pollution, restoring democracy, preserving human rights, drug, mosquito and traffic free city, senior citizen services and modernising of the libraries and museums.
