BCL leaders is placing of wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi on its 72nd founding anniversary on Jan 4

The Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) is celebrating its 72nd founding anniversary through two-day programmes.
On the sidelines of the anniversary, BCL has arranged a reunion programme at 2.30pm at the capital’s Suhrawardi Udyan on Saturday (Jan 3).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the programme as the chief guest and a former BCL activist.
The largest student organization having a glorious heritage of struggle and success, the BCL came into being on January 4 in 1948 at the instruction of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with a view to attaining the country’s independence.
“The day’s programmes have been started with placing of wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi road 32 at 6.30am and cutting of the cake at 8.30am at Dhaka University Curzon Hall,” said BCL Organising Secretary Saad Bin Quader.
According to the BCL sources, present and former leaders, activists of the Awami League student front from all over the country have joined the anniversary.
