The Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has not invited its immediate-past leadership for the reunion organised on the occasion of its 72nd founding anniversary.
Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and Golam Rabbani were removed as the BCL's president and general secretary late last year.
They have not been invited as per the instructions from "party's high command", BCL's acting President Al Nahian Khan Joy told Bangla Tribune on Thursday (Jan 2).
Awami League chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the reunion as the chief guest, which is scheduled for Saturday (Jan 4) at Dhaka's Suhrawardi Udyan.
On Sept 14, Shovon and Rabbani were removed from BCL leadership for their controversial activities and alleged abuse of office.
