An election commission has been formed to conduct the upcoming 21st National Council of the ruling Awami League.
A three-member commission was formed during the party’s highest policymaking forum Central Working Committee’s meeting on Wednesday (Dec 18).
AL’s advisory committee member Yusuf Hossain Humayun has been appointed the chief election commissioner while Moshiur Rahman and Saidur Rahman have been appointed election commissioners.
In the meeting presided by party chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, it was decided that the advisory committee would be expanded to 51 members as opposed to the existing 41.
It was also decided that the Matshajibi League will be recognised as an affiliate organisation.
