Retired bureaucrat Solaiman Chowdhury resigns from Jamaat

Jamaat-e-Islami leader AFM Solaiman Chowdhury, who retired as a government secretary has resigned from the party.
He sent his resignation letter to Jamaat Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Tuesday (Dec 10), citing personal reasons.
According to sources close to the former bureaucrat, on Dec 3, Chwodhury took part in a programme organised by banished Jamaat leader Mujibur Rahman Manju, after which he was called in by the top leadership.
Responding to queries on whether he was joining Mujibur Rahman’s party, Chowdhury said, ,”I can’t say anything about it now. You’ll know in good time.”
