“Their (BNP’s) involvement in the issue is being investigated,” said Quader while he was addressing a meeting over the upcoming party council at AL chief’s Dhanmondi office on Friday (Dec 6).
The road transport minister has also criticized BNP leadership ‘from the bank of River Thames’ before saying, “Undoubtedly, they [BNP] are politically failed.”
Quader has also denied any responsibility of government regarding the bail of BNP party chief Khaleda Zia.
“Khaleda Zia is facing a graft case, not a political one. The government could decide over her acquittal if she was imprisoned in a political case,” he said.
“They claimed that the government is barring her [Khaleda’s] release due to political issue. However, the allegation is invalid,” he added.
The minister also responded to his BNP counterpart Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s remarks on Thursday (Dec 5) over Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“Her [PM] remarks are scrupulous and not aligned with BNP leaders' statements,” he said.
Quader has slammed pro-BNP lawyer over the incident at High Court (HC) on Thursday.
He said, “They have staged a warzone at HC court-room. Their arrogance is unforgivable.”
