Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has informed that former Chhatra League leaders will be selected for Awami Swechasebak League's new leadership.
"Former Chhatra League leaders who are interested, have a clean image and are devoted to the organization will be picked as top leaders of Swechasebak League," said Quader.
He said this on Thursday (Nov 14) during his visit at Dhaka's Suhrawardy Udyan, the venue for Swechasebak League's national council which is scheduled for Nov 16.
"If leaders and activists of the Awami League affiliated organizations want to bring in people from outside and make them leaders, they can do that as the constitutions of these organizations permit that," Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister claimed.
Criticizing BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Quader said Fakrul has nothing to do except blame the government.
Earlier on Oct 23, Molla Md Abu Kawsar was relieved from the president's post of Swechasebak League, for his alleged connection with casino business.
