Sramik League gets new leadership

Fazlul Haque Minto and KM Azam Khashru have been made the president and the general secretary of ruling Awami League's (AL) labour front Jatiya Sramik League respectively.
Besides, Molla Abul Kalam has been made the executive president of the organization.
AL General Secretary Obaibul Quader made the announcement during the second session of the 13th national conference of Sramik League at the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) auditorium in Dhaka on Saturday (Nov 9).
Earlier in the morning, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 13th the conference at the capital's Suhrawardy Udyan.
Over 8,000 councillors along with an equal number of delegates from 78 district organizations across the country with the central committee leaders joined the conference.
Besides, a number of foreign guests including labour leaders are participating in the event.
Founded by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman founded the BJSL, the largest labour organization in the country, on Oct 12 in 1969.
In the last conference held on Jul 19 in 2012, leaders Sukkur Mahmud and Sirajul Islam were elected president and general secretary respectively of the body.
