In 2019, there is unrest within Jamaat over the comment because it took initiative to publish that report in the form of a book.
When it became clear that the book criticizes Jamaat, an unease took form within the party.
A leading figure in the party said: “A probe committee has been formed to find how the book was published and from where the funds were arranged.”
An extract from Robertson's reportIn the report, the British lawyer called for the stoppage of the execution of opposition party members and claimed that many freedom fighters were also linked to human rights violations.
Barrister Abu Bakar Mollah, European spokesperson for Jamaat, said: “Jamaat has no link with Robertson’s report.”
He also said that he did not know why a probe committee was formed by Jamaat.
I have not heard of Dr Shafiqur’s association with the publishing of the report, he added.
