Arrest casino operators irrespective of party affiliation: Jubo League chief

"Whatever portfolio they hold, arrest any involved in the casino business," he said while addressing a rally in Dhaka's Uttara.
Jubo League is the youth front of the ruling party, Bangladesh Awami League.
The statements come at a time when law enforcement agencies are conducting drives busting casinos in Dhaka.
Rapid Action Battalion arrested Dhaka (South) Jubo League Organizing Secretary Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan was arrested on Wednesday for running an unauthorized casino in Dhaka's Fakirapool Young Men's Club.
He was subsequently put on a seven-day remand.
Omar Faroque claimed that the party would have taken action much earlier against its activists if they had information about their involvement in the casino business.
He said: "Every newspaper is now publishing reports about illegal casinos and they are trying to point fingers at us. If we had this information before, we could have taken action.
"Now law enforcement agencies are active. We will suspend all who are busted."
He said the organization does not need any "oversmart" activists.
"You need to be a manager to be involved in Jubo League party politics. What does a manager mean? It means managing and adjusting. If you cannot manage, you will not be happy," he added.
He also warned not to allow anyone to run armed cadres in the organization.
