A politician cannot win the love of people merely through his designation without actually going to the doorsteps of the voters, says Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader.
He came up with the remarks during a views exchange meeting with the party members of its Shyampur Kadamtali unit at his Uttara residence in the capital on Tuesday (Sept 10).
At the time, the leaders and activists on the party greeted Quader with bouquets on becoming deputy leader of the opposition.
“I wish to continue my political works with the unconditional love and inspiration of the masses,” the party chairman said.
He said that Jatiya Party was a party of the people and that most of the development work in the country had been initiated after the liberation under the tenure of HM Ershad.
The party would be able to become a more powerful political force in the country with an efficient organisation and better coordination, he added.
