At the 41st founding anniversary of BNP, the main objective of the party is to salvage democracy and secure release of incarcerated party chairman Khaleda Zia, said its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Saying that Khaleda Zia has been unlawfully imprisoned, he observed: “Through her imprisonment, democracy is being strangulated.”
Saying that BNP’s observance of its anniversary was being hampered all over the country, he observed: “Those who stole freedom of speech through the formation of BAKSAL are now trying to annihilate political opposition.”
We will carry on our movement to hold a free, fair election, added Fakhrul.
