The BNP has never been accused of murder, said its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
“As a matter of fact, Awami League has been carrying out killings since coming to power in 1972,” he told the media at the National Press Club on Sunday (Aug 25).
“Two days ago, the Awami League information minister said that BNP is a party of murderers,” he added.
Fakhrul alleged that since coming to power in 1972, the ruling party killed many activists.
He said that they did the same after coming in 2008 when they tortured and killed “thousands of BNP activists.”
“They have blocked all democratic ways. They didn’t leave out anything called a democratic space.”
Claiming that the government has completely failed in dealing with the Rohingya crisis he alleged that along with democracy, the administration has systematically destroyed all the institutions of the country including economy, healthcare and education.
