A court in Dhaka has ordered the arrest of nine BNP leaders, including acting Chairperson Taique Rahman and Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
On Monday (Aug 5), Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder issued warrants against the BNP leaders after taking into cognizance a case filed earlier in the day AB Siddiqui, who heads the pro-Awami League ‘Jananetri Parishad’.
The seven others BNP leaders are Amanullah Aman, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Goyeswar Chandra Roy, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, former BUET teacher Hafizur Rahman Rana and Chatra Dal cadre Emdadul Haque Bhuiyan.
Siddiqui accused that the defendants have threatened him with life.
