Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader speaking to the media after inaugurating the highway police command and monitoring control centre at the Meghna toll plaza in Narayanganj on Sunday (Jun 2).BNP chief Khaleda Zia has been given adequate security at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), said Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.
His remarks came while addressing the media at the Awami League president’s Dhanmondi offices on Saturday (Jun 8).
On Jun 6, the police have recovered what looked like a crude petrol bomb from the third floor of BSMMU’s administrative building.
As Khaleda is undergoing treatments there, BNP demanded her security to be tightened and expressed fear that other conspiracies were at play there.
Quader, who also serves as the ruling Awami League’s general secretary, however, said that BNP was unnecessarily making a fuss out of it to gain support.
