BNP Standing Committee Member Moudud Ahmed was addressing a discussion program at National Press club on Friday, June 8, 2018.Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has alleged on Friday that the ruling political party wants to abolish the opposition parties in name of anti-drug raids.
Addressing a discussion program at National Press club, BNP Standing Committee Member Moudud Ahmed said, “The Awami League government cannot give such an order to kill anybody in name of anti-drug raid.
Moudud said, “The government wants to uproot its opposition parties in name of anti drug raids. The government has started to enroll the names of the BNP activists in the so called list for ‘shootout’. Any responsible and civilized government cannot give order to kill people in such a way. They are committing a great crime. Every single killing will be investigated.
“Who has given the authority to the government to give the tag of ‘drug peddler’ to a citizen? No court has given any verdict to kill any suspect. We all want a drug free country but don’t want any killings without a trial and it is similar with genocide,” he added.
Commenting on the budget of 2018-19 Moudud said, “It is as like as a blue balloon. Its inside is empty and nothing is special in the latest proposed budget.
Claiming a credible election is not possible under this Election Commission, he said, “EC repeatedly said the Army will not be deployed in the election but suddenly they changed their decision, which raises question. The army should give the magistracy power along with operating as a striking force”.
