Awami League Acting General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif. File PhotoThe Jamaat-e-Islami has no right to do politics even if it rebrands itself, says the ruling Awami League.
“Jamaat reformists have no right to do politics wearing new masks… They (Jamaat) should regret about their activities during the Liberation War instead of changing their colour,” its acting General Secretary Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif said on Saturday.
His remarks came while speaking to the media hours after former leaders of Jamaat-e-Islam launched a new political initiative, reports BSS.
Dismissing the BNP’s allegations of its MPs-elect being pressured by government to join parliament, Hanif said the BNP member who took oath to his was driven by his own moral responsibilities.
