The BNP’s future is bleak and it will face extinction, just like the Jamaat-e-Islami, says Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif.
“They (BNP) have no future in the political landscape of the country… BNP leaders have resorted to falsehood to mislead the people,” state news agency BSS quoted him saying on Saturday (Mar 23).
His remark came addressing a discussion in front of the party’s Bangabandhu Avenue headquarters organized by the Awami League’s volunteers’ wing, Sechasebok League.
AL Organizing Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim and leaders of Awami League, among others, addressed the discussion with President of Awami Sechasebok League Advocate Mollah Md Abu kausar in the chair. General Secretary of Awami Sechasebok League Pangkaz Devnath conducted the discussion, says the BSS report.
“Awami League believes in democracy and freedom of speech … that’s why BNP is resorting to falsehood for destabilise the political situation in the country,” Hanif was quoted saying in the report.
He urged leaders and activists of Awami League to resist conspiracy of BNP for continuing development process in the country.
