BNP has expelled nine grass root leaders for contesting the upcoming Upazila elections violating the party’s decisions.
The decision was taken on Tuesday (Feb 26), reads a press release signed by BNP’s Deputy Office Secretary Belal Ahmed.
Party sources say these nine leaders have chosen to go against the party's decision to contest the upcoming Upazila Council polls.
The expelled leaders are, Panchagarh Sadar BNP unit president Abu Daud Pradhan, Pirojpur’s Kaukhali Upazila BNP Joint General Secretary Kafi Chowdhury, Female Affairs Secretary Fatema Yasmin Popi, South Sumanganj unit BNP President Faruk Ahmed, Sunamganj BNP Vice President Anisul Haque, Swhechchasebak Dal Joint Secretary Kamal Parvez, Mohila Dal Convener Madina Akter, Bisambpur Upazila Female Affairs Secretary Ayesha Akter and BNP member Harunur Rashid.
They have been stripped of their ranks and membership of the party, said Ahmed.
