Opposition coalition Jatiya Oikya Front has rescheduled its public hearing over the 11th National Election.
It will be now held on Feb 22 instead of Feb 24, sources confirmed Bangla Tribune, who said that the decision came from a meeting of the key Steering Committee on Tuesday at the coalition’s leader Gano Forum chief Dr Kamal Hossain’s offices in Motijheel.
According to them, the Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium has been fixed as the venue.
The decision to reschedule the event comes a day after ASM Abdur Rab, whose Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) is an ally in the coalition, alleged the government of conspiring to foil the public hearing.
“The government has booked all halls in advance in an effort to prevent us from holding the public hearing on Feb 24,” he said on Monday.
Speaking at a media briefing, he said, “We will overcome the hurdles and hold the public hearing wherever we find the place. Let that be under the open sky.”
He also said that all their candidates who contested the 11th parliamentary polls to take part in the hearing.
“We will also invite the parties, which rejected the last polls, to present their opinion,” added the Oikya Front leader.
