Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has advised the allies of the 14-party to be the opposition in Parliament.

We want the allies to carry out constructive criticism of the government and play the role of a potent opposition force, Quader said while inspecting the Suhrawardy Udyan on Thursday (Jan 17) for the AL grand rally slated for Saturday (Jan 19).

If this happens, the government will get the chance to rectify its mistakes, he added.

“The Jatiya Party is part of the alliance as a strategic partner, therefore the roles of the allies will be decided through discussion.”

Confirming that there isn’t any contention within the 14-party alliance, Quader said, “Since the people voted the AL to power, the government will not do anything to inconvenience the nation.”

The massive public sentiment in favour of Awami League will be seen once more at the rally on Jan 19, he asserted.
