On Oct 13, BNP together with Dr Kama Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal and Nagorik Oikya launched the new alliance to press for their seven-point demand and 11 visions, including holding the next election under a non-party administration. Confirmation letters have been handed over from the BNP chief’s Gulshan offices on Saturday (Dec 8).

Dr Kamal Hossain-led Gano Forum got seven seats, the party's Executive President Subrata Chowdhury confirmed.

ASM Abdur Rab-led JSD was given five seats, its Vice President Tania Rab told Bangla Tribune before adding: "Negotiations are on (with the BNP) for a few more."

Nagorik Oikya leader Jahid Ur Rahman confirmed that they have been given five seats.
The candidates fielded by the allies will contest the election with BNP’s polls logo ‘paddy sheaf’.

The remaining ally, Kader Sidduqi’s Krishak Sramik Janata League (KSJL), is yet to close its negotiations with the BNP.

“We are yet to receive any letter (from the BNP on confirming nomination). Talks are continuing,” its General Secretary Habibur Rahman Talukder told Bangla Tribune.
