Jatiya Party Presidium member Md Mashiur Rahman Ranga has replaced Ruhul Amin Howladar as the new Secretary General of the party.
The party’s Chairman HM Ershad’s press secretary Sunil Shubho Rai confirmed the matter through a press release on Monday (Dec 3).
The press release signed by the former military dictator read that Moshiur Rahman Ranga will be carrying out the responsibilities of the Secretary General in addition to his responsibilities as a presidium member. The change would be effective immediately according to the party charter.
The reason behind the removal of Howlader, whose nomination for the Patuakhali-1 was scrapped, is yet to be known.
Moshiur Rahman Ranga is also currently serving the state minister for Rural Development and Co-operatives under the Ministry of Local Government.
