A biography of jailed BNP chief Khaleda Zia titled ‘Begum Khaleda Zia: Her Life, Her Story’ will be unveiled on Sunday (Nov 18).
Journalist Mahfuz Ullah authored the book, which covers from her early life to her political ups and downs until the military-installed caretaker administration took office in 2007.
“Basically, the book will tell about Khaleda, a three-time prime minister, and her life stories. It tries to highlight her political struggles,” Mahfuz Ullah told Bangla Tribune.
“It tells stories of Khaleda‘s rise as a political leader as well as her charismatic leadership,” he added.
Asked why the 700-page book’s content does not go beyond 2007, Mahfuz Ullah cited time constraint.
“I took many years to work on the book and I gathered her life stories till the caretaker government,” he said.
The book on Khaleda would be the last biography authored by him, Ullah said. “From now on, I will not write biography for people.”
Mahfuz Ullah also authored a biography of BNP founder and military dictator Ziaur Rahman titled ‘President Zia of Bangladesh: A Political Biography.’
The book launch will be held at the Lakeshore Hotel in the capital’s Gulshan, Sairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP chief’s media wing, told Bangla Tribune.
