Obaidul Quader. FILE PHOTOAwami League general secretary, Obidul Quader, has called Bangladesh Nationalist Party, BNP’s latest allegation over the coming election date (Dec 30) ‘totally illogical’.

BNP earlier said that the Election Commission had arranged the voting on Dec 30 to prevent the presence of foreign observers.

“But BNP’s observation is most ridiculous, indecent, unrealistic, baseless and irrational,” said Quader at a media briefing at the party’s Dhanmondi office on Tuesday (Nov 13).

If BNP is thinking about movement, then the people of the country will prevent them since the nation is in the mood for election, said Quader.

Saying that nomination forms will be accepted today, he told the media that Dr Abdur Razzaq, Col (retd) Faruq Khan and Ramesh Chandra Sen have been elected temporary members of the parliamentary nomination board.

“Despite being indisposed, Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Syed Ashraful Islam and Dr Alauddin Ahmed have been included in the board.”
