Rescheduling polls EC’s call: Jatiya PartyA senior leader of Jatiya Party (JP) has said it is the Election Commission’s call to reschedule the 11th parliamentary election.
“JP is ready to join in the polls but it falls under the EC’s jurisdiction whether to change the voting date,” its Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Hawladar said on Sunday (Nov 11).
Speaking at the opening of the party’s nomination forms at its city office, Hawladar said, “Announcement on a grand alliance is likely as talks are under way.”
The JP leader hoped that the upcoming general election will be an ‘all-inclusive, free, fair and credible’ one.
“We except an atmosphere during the election where no one will raise question on the polls result,” said Hawladar.
As many as 553 aspirants collected nomination papers on the first day to contend on JP ticket.
