The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has submitted a partial list of false cases against its activists and members of its front organizations at the Prime Minister’s Office.
A four-member BNP delegation carried the list, signed by the party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and addressed to the prime minister personal assistant Abdul Hamid, was received by the PMO at 11.30am on Wednesday, BNP chairperson's media wing member Sairul Kabir Khan told Bangla Tribune.
The delegation comprising of Taijul Islam Titu, advocate Ziauddin Zia, Shariful Islam Liton BNP Chairperson's media wing member Shamsuddin Didar.
In the letter, Fakhrul said that they are submitting the partial list as asked by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the dialogue with Jatiya Oikya Front on Nov 1.
The cases are even naming people who have already died or those who are staying abroad, he said.
“We request to stop arresting and harassing our leaders and activists in these false cases and withdrawing these cases,” the letter read.
