Grassroot level workers want to see central leaders on the street

PHOTO: Sazzad HossainThe grassroot level leaders and activists want to see central and leading leaders of the Jatiya Oikya Front on the streets in the coming days, calling for the realisation of the 7-point demand.
The call was made on Tuesday when workers, supporters and activists joined the Jatiya Oikya Front rally at the capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan.
The grassroot level workers feel that, if leading figures remain behind the scene, feigning illness, then the movement will fail.
On worker said, “If leaders are on the streets then we shall win.”
Joint president of Munshiganj district BNP, Jasim Uddin, said, “Leaders and workers are on the streets in the face of mounting odds and the main leaders also need to be on the roads.”
“If the leaders are on the street we get a confidence and the movement receives an impetus,” commented one worker.
Sunamganj BNP president and former MP, Kalimuddin Ahmed Milon, says, “this is the last battle to restore democracy; we must remain on the streets; we shall fight together and bring back voting rights for the masses.”
Worker of the Krishak Sramik Janata League, Rafikuddin, says, “The masses have lost trust on this government and no one believes them.”
An activist of Dhaka city BNP, Ali Abbas, said, “We never betray the cause and always remain steadfast; the leaders are often missing.”
Jubu Dal leader, Md Shah Poran, added, “If our seven point demands are not met then there will be a movement on the roads and central leaders must take part.”
To salvage democracy and secure freedom of Khaleda Zia they need to be with us, he stressed.
