Awami League- Islamists parties talks ends

Awami League chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ended talks with a delegation of eight Islamists parties and coalitions.
The dialogue ended at 4:30pm on Tuesday (Nov 4). Earlier, the 36-member delegation entered the PM’s official residence Ganabhaban at 1:30pm while the talks started 2:45pm.
Emerging from the talks, Islami Oikya Jote Chairman Abdul Latif said, “We asked (ruling party) to sit with all political parties for talks to ensure an all-inclusive election.”
Islamic Democratic Alliance chief lawmaker MA Awal said they have ‘no objection’ if the national election is held under incumbent government.
Bangladesh Khelafate Andalon Chairman Moulana Ataullah said they will join in the polls and will not ally with other parties.
“We’ve proposed to take necessary steps to hold a free and fair election,” he added.
The eight Islamists parties and collations are Islami Oikya Jote (IOJ), Bangladesh Muslim League, Bangladesh Jalali Party, Ashekine Awalia Oikya Parishad Bangladesh, Zaker Party, Bangladesh Jatiya Islami Jote (BNIA), Bangladesh Sammilito Islami Jote and Islamic Democratic Alliance.
Hasina led the delegation of the 14-party Alliance, comprising of Awami League leaders and representatives from its allies.
Earlier, Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Front (JOF) sat in the dialogue with the Prime Minister on November 1, while Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury-led Jukta Front on November 2, leaders of 14-party on November 4, and HM Ershad-led United National Alliance (UNA) on November 5.
But Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Front will sit in talks again with the 14-party alliance at 11 am at Ganabhaban on Wednesday.
