Awami League chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will sit for talks with opposition Jatiya Party on Nov 5.
The invitation has been sent to Jatiya Party chief HM Ershad on Wednesday hours after the former military dictator wrote to Hasina seeking an audience with her.
A 20-member Jatiya Party delegation will take part in the talks at Ganabhaban at 7:30pm on Nov 5, Ershad’s Deputy Personal Secretary Khandoker Delwar Jalali told Bangla Tribune.
Awami League’s Information and Research Secretary Afzal Hossain and Office Secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap handed over the letter to the staff at Ershad’s residence in the capital’s Baridhara.
Earlier in the day, Ershad’s letter calling for talks was handed to officials at the Prime Minister’s Office by the party’s Presidium member Sunil Shubha Roy.
