The police personnel posted at BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s residence have been withdrawn.
Shamsuddin Didar, a member of the BNP chief’s media wing, said that the police deployment outside the house in Dhaka’s upscale neighbourhood of Gulshan was removed around 4:30pm on Wednesday.
The four-member deployment consisted of a sub-inspector and three constables.
“It’s not clear why they have been withdrawn,” he told Bangla Tribune.
Gulshan Police OC Md Abu Bakar Siddique said the house was located in the diplomatic enclave.
“The Diplomatic Security Division is the authorised to comment on the matter,” he told Bangla Tribune.
