At a meeting held at the press club, BNP standing committee member, Nazrul Islam Khan, questioned AL’s respect towards the constitution when the provision for caretaker government was revoked.
Saying that AL will not be able to rig votes if army is deployed, he said: “why did AL demand military deployment in parliamentary election of 1996?”
Calling on the ruling party for compromise and conciliation, Nazrul Islam said: “let us talk and by common agreement hold a neutral, free and fair election.”
