BNP has not been able to make any effective protests in the last decade, said the Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
“They channelled their failed protest attempts into the quota reform movement,” the minister said while addressing a rally at Karnafuli crossing at Chattogram on Sunday (Sept 23).
He added that no conspiracy will be of any avail to BNP anymore.
On BNP joining the citizens’ rally yesterday, Quader said “A foreign poll has found that AL’s popularity is 66 percent. There can be no national unity without the AL.”
He also brushed off BNP Senior General Secretary, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s claims about an invitation to the United Nations headquarters by the secretary general as baseless.
“The secretary-general was not even present during his visit. He was granted dialogue with an official whose post was much lower in the hierarchy.” he said.
