AQM Badrudozza Chowdhury-led Jukto Front and the alliance of eight leftist parties are set for a meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting is scheduled for 6pm at the offices of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) in the city’s Purana Paltan area, Mahumudur Rahman Manna, who’s Nagaorik Oikyo is a member of the Jukto Front, told Bangla Tribune.
In July, eight leftist parties, including the Communist Party of Bangladesh or CPB, Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal or BaSaD and Ganasanghati Andolan, floated a new alliance with an eye on the parliamentary elections.
They coalition has been named the ‘Bam Ganatantrik Jote’ or Left Democratic Alliance.
On Wednesday, Ganasanghati Coordinator Jonayed Saki had meeting with Gano Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain, who leads a political platform styled ‘Jatiya Oikyp Prokriya’.
Last week, B Chowdhury and Kamal Hossain announced of forging a ‘greater national unity’ for what they said to ensure a free, fair and credible national election.
Manna said that he along with JSD chief ASM Rab, Bikalpa Dhara Joint Secreteray General Mahi B Chowdhury and pro-BNP intellectual Zafrullah Chowdhury will represent Jukto Front in the meeting at the CPB headquarters.
“We are likely to discuss the current political scenario,” he told Bangla Tribune.
