A BNP delegation is in a meeting with Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal at the Secretariat on Sunday (Sept 9).
Senior leaders of BNP want to discuss about the medical care of their party chief Khaleda Zia, who is now serving a five-year jail term in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told journalists prior to the meeting, “Eight of us are joining the meeting. Amir Khasru Mahmud will join later.”
On Sept 7, BNP wrote to the home ministry seeking an appointment with Minister Kamal, Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP chief’s media wing, told Bangla Tribune.
She has been kept at the old jailhouse in Dhaka since Feb 8, when she was convicted of embezzling foreign donations made to the orphanage.
