The award-winning photographer was picked up a day after he was assaulted while capturing photos of the ongoing students’ protests and his camera was vandalised in Dhanmondi area.

Police have brought charges of spreading false information through social media against him under the ICT Act's controversial Section 57. He was produced before a court on Monday, when the investigators were granted seven days to interrogate him in custody.

On Tuesday, his wife Rehnuma Ahmed moved the High Court against the remand, when the court ordered a quick transfer of Alam to hospital for treatment from police custody.
