Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed. FILE PHOTOCommerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Friday hoped that the agitating students will leave the streets and return home as all of their demands have already been accepted by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“All the demands placed by the students have been accepted by the prime minister and she is a very kind leader …We hope the students will go back home and they will not do anything jeopardizing the country’s reputation,” he said, addressing as the chief guest a special extended meeting of Sadar Upazila Awami League (AL) at his own residence at Gazipur road in Bhola.
Tofail ruled out any possibility of dialogue with BNP at the moment.
“They are talking about dialogue now. The prime minister called them [BNP] (for talks) before the election on January 5 in 2014, but they did not come,” he added.
He cautioned that if BNP does not participate in the next general elections, the party will have to suffer more.
