Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested a suspected member of banned militant outfit Ansar-al-Islam, previously known as Ansarullah Bangla Team.
Identified as Muhib Mushfiq Khan, 19, the suspect was arrested from Dhaka’s Rajuk Uttara Housing area on Monday (Mar 30). He was the online financier of the organization.

Confirming the matter, RAB-2’s Assistant Director (media) ASP Zahid Ahsan said, “He was arrested from Dhaka’s Rajuk Uttara Housing area on Monday. We also recovered a huge number of extremist books and electronic devices from his possession.”
Ahsan also said that RAB arrested 6 suspected suicide members of this organization from Munshiganj, Sylhet, and Pabna on January 30 and February 13. On the basis of the information received from them, RAB arrested Muhib on Monday.
The official said, “The detained Muhib is directly linked to the banned militant group Ansar-al-Islam. After analyzing his seized cell phone, we found irrefutable evidence of his involvement with the organization.”
